Thank you for visiting our website. I’m Joseph Atsu Humadzi, President of the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD). I’m thrilled to welcome you to the heart of disability advocacy in Ghana as we step boldly into 2025—a year of fresh opportunities and renewed momentum.

At GFD, we are not just an umbrella body for disability organizations; we are a movement—a driving force for inclusion, empowerment, and change. Our mission remains clear: to create a Ghana where everyone, regardless of ability, can thrive in education, employment, healthcare, and every sphere of life.

For nearly four decades, GFD has been at the forefront of disability rights in Ghana — driving policy change, shifting attitudes, and championing inclusion since 1987. Our enduring legacy continues to shape a more equitable nation for persons with disabilities.

Over 2 million persons with disabilities and their families have been empowered through our advocacy, capacity building, awareness campaigns, and direct support programmes. We are transforming lives by ensuring voices are heard and rights are respected across Ghana.

More than 10,000 persons with disabilities have gained meaningful employment opportunities through our strategic partnerships, skills development initiatives, and advocacy for inclusive hiring practices. We are breaking employment barriers and opening doors to economic independence.

1. To influence inclusive national legislation, policies, and programs that uphold the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities.

2. To provides a common platform for organizations of persons with disabilities to amplify their voices and lead the fight for equality
