GFD Trains Staff of ABSA on the Young Africa Works programme on disability Inclusion.

In a move to ensure the meaningful inclusion of young people with disabilities in the Young Africa Works (YAW) partner program, the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD) recently conducted a disability awareness training for the staff of ABSA who are attached to the Young Africa Works (YAW) Programme. The training, facilitated by the Disability Inclusion Advisor from GFD on the We Can Work (WCW) program, aimed to equip ABSA’s YAW team with the necessary knowledge and skills in inclusive programming.

The training, which took place on Friday, June 28th in Accra, was part of the WCW program’s Outcome 3, implemented by the GFD. The training was facilitated by the Disability Inclusion Advisor and the Disability Inclusion Facilitator of the We can Work Programme.

The We Can Work program, which is integrated into the implementation of Young Africa Works in seven African countries, including Ghana, seeks to enable young women and men with disabilities to access dignified and fulfilling work by 2030. By partnering with mainstream organizations like Absa Bank Ghana, the program aims to ensure that all MasterCard Foundation programs become disability inclusive while equipping youth with disabilities to have access to finance to make their businesses thrive to enable live a dignified life.
