GFD Delegation Attends We Can Work Inspiration Meeting in Kenya
NAIROBI, Kenya, October 29, 2024 – A six-member delegation from the Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD) has arrived in Nairobi to participate in the “We Can Work” project’s annual inspiration week meeting, which commenced on Monday October 27.
The week-long conference, hosted by Light for the World at the Tamarind Tree Hotel, brings together representatives from seven participating countries to evaluate the project’s pilot year implementation and strategize for 2025.
Leading the Ghanaian delegation is GFD Executive Director Rita Kusi Kyeremaa, accompanied by Doris Ndebugre, the project’s Programmes Manager. Other team members include Rebecca Nunnoo, Disability Inclusion Advisor; Richmond Dadzie, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer; Mohammed Lansah, Learning and Documentation Officer; and Gabriel Narh Tetteh, We Can Work Academy Coordinator.
“The inspiration week serves as a crucial platform for sharing experiences and best practices among participating nations,” said Andera Delfyna, Learning and Innovation expert for Light for the World, the organization partnering with GFD on the project.
The “We Can Work” initiative aims to enhance employment opportunities for persons with disabilities across participating countries. The meeting, scheduled to conclude on November 1, will focus on reviewing achievements from the pilot phase and developing comprehensive implementation strategies for the upcoming year.
